You may be asked to include your phone # so they can call you when they are repaired. They want to get fixing right away because once the pothole has been reported, the group that owns the road could possibly be held liable for an incident. Some of these processes online allow pictures to be uploaded, a plus in making sure the correct pothole is repaired.
3. State roads: you can call SCDOT at 587-4725. The state has the state seal on the road sign. They can also help you determine who owns the road – city, county or state. Ownership can be confusing.
