Andrew spoke on his request of funds for the Spinx/Spartancross team. After discussion, a unanimous vote was approved to donate $500. This will come from the FCA.
Audrey- the 1st level of the bicycle training we have been discussing will be held on January 16th @ the YMCA. Check in will be at 8:30 and the class will go from 9-5 with a lunch break (bring $ for food.) Please register in advance for this informative class; it will be well worth the cost of $10, which is only the charge of the workbook needed!! You will need to bring your own bike, or you will have to rent one of the B-cycles to do some onsite training in the parking lot.
Karl- the Corporate Bike rides will begin in February at Milliken and have 6 rides, varying in location. They will be approx. every other month. Cost will be $15/rider and have SAG support. Any monies left after paying SAG will be divided between the FW and the charity chosen.
Larry- went over the budget, encourages all members to update their membership!!
Ricky- spoke about getting hit last week. Advised on the importance of trying to focus on license plates, riding safely.
Audrey- Ned will be coming to speak on Jan 11 at the downtown library from 6:30-8:00. This will be in lieu of our monthly FW meeting. Come out to hear him!! Also, FCA needs to be considering which level sponsorship role to take for the Crit, as the tent spots are filling up.
A discussion began on what the FW identity is. Why do cyclists join? What is the (immediate) benefit? Several ideas were thrown around about how we can “get back to our roots,” bring the cycling community together.
Thoughts…
