2017 FCA July meeting minutes

Freewheelers Cycling Association (FCA) minutes July 10, 2017

Present: Karl Johnson, Andrew Danfy, Briana Carr, Katie Jordan, Charles Martino,

Steve Verdel, Pablo Pena, Ricky Tutterow, Cheri Tutterow, Frank Tutterow, Larry Richards, Larry Hart

Mitchell update: 750/100 riders respectively for Mitchell/Marion (540 finished Mitchell) All the emails were positive this year



The online advertising was productive, print not so much; this will be

reevaluated next year. All the news channels were there. We ended up with 23K i

n sponsors. The income was 163,800 and expenses were 157,000 leaving a profit of $6600 this year. Karl will talk to the church who is over Hub Cycle to see about their needs and then we will vote on who our proceeds will benefit this year. We were approved for a 4K ATAX grant which will begin on the 2018 Assaults. The cut off time will have to be changed on the parkway due to concerns from the park ranger, and also several riders coming in after the official cut off time. This will be strictly enforced next year, along with

personal SAG control. The food was a hit; we will continue with the same caterer next year.  Discussion on holding a clinic to teach changing a tire, oiling a chain, etc. Several members were interested in helping with this. We will work on getting this li
