The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club (BRBC) is proud to bring you the 10th annual Fletcher Flyer beginning at 8:00 a.m.. Like last year, the offering includes the full, metric, half century, and thirty mile rides, which wind through the valleys south of Asheville. It is the least Hilly ride in Western North Carolina, but it has plenty of rolling hills to keep all riders interested. There is terrific mountain scenery without the long mountain climbs.

The century, metric, and half century have cumulative climbs of 4044, 3039, and 2216 feet, respectively. The event can appeal to a wide variety of riders. It is a great course for first time event riders on every route option. It is a fast ride for more experienced riders who want to do a century without spending all day. It is also perfect spring training ride for those who want to prepare for the summer climbing centuries beginning with the Assault on Mount Mitchell.

The first 500 riders to register will receive DeFeet cycling socks.

Be sure to register early to make sure you receive the official Fletcher Flyer socks in the size available.

How Much does the Tour Cost?
Registration is $45 dollars per person. Buy tickets online or drop off or mail cash or check to the Mill Spring Ag Center, Attn: Laura Brookshire, PO Box 267, Mill Spring, NC 28756. There are only 50 spaces available on the tour, so act quickly and reserve your spot now!

What is the Growing Cycle Cycle-to-Farm Tour?
It is similar to other Farm Tours, but instead of riding in a car you ride your bike to various farms, given a select route to follow. Each cyclist is given a cue sheet that lays out the route and where to stop along the way. Every farm will be giving tours, have samples, and have their items for sale.

All proceeds from this tour will go to completing the Cooperative Extension Demonstration Kitchen at the Mill Spring Ag Center.

The Rotary Club of Greenville SC presents 12 Hours of Bikar. A unique cycling event for the entire family taking place over a closed loop course.The 12 Hours of BIKAR will take place from 7 am-7 pm on Saturday, August 24th on the campus of CU-ICAR in Greenville, SC. Cyclists can participate for as long they wish. The event encourages healthy living and lifestyles and will feature food, drink and entertainment for cyclists, their friends and families of all ages and skill levels.

Adult Registration is $35 through July 31st and $45 Thereafter. Registration for Children 12 & Under is $15 through July 31st and $25 Starting August 1st.

Choose between a 28 or 62 mile course through the beautiful rolling farm country of southwest Spartanburg County. The routes will consist of lightly traveled secondary roads and farm roads and will be marked with directional arrows and paw prints!!

Immediately following the ride we will be serving grilled hotdogs, chips, and soft drinks.

All rider fees go directly to the Spartanburg Humane Society and are used for the benefit of animals in the community.

Issaqueena’s Last Ride is a challenging, mountain ride through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. The century features a cumulative elevation gain of 8000 feet highlighted by the climb toward Whitewater Falls and Wigington Overlook. Grades reach 14%. The metric, though shorter, includes the major climb. The 32-mile is hilly but does not stretch to the mountains. Please know your strength and do not over-reach. Registration fee includes tee-shirt, map, breakfast, after race meal, SAG, rest stops, and marked route.

Wheels for Meals

First held in 2007, Wheels for Meals offers four rides to cyclists of all ages, abilities, and lifestyles: 25-mile, 43-mile, 62-mile Metric Century and 100-miles English Century. Proceeds from all events benefit Meals on Wheels to enhance the quality of life of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals, personal contact, and related services. Since its inception, Wheels for Meals has helped provide 69,180 meals for Greenville County homebound neighbors. With a start/finish at Furman University, there are rides for all levels allowing cyclists to enjoy a great challenge while taking in the fantastic scenery.

9th Annual Tour de Lure

The 9th Annual Tour de Lure ride is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th 2013 beginning at 9am. Once again, our ride will begin and end at the Corpening Memorial YMCA - incorporate a beautiful 71 mile route through scenic farmland in McDowell county, climbs up Stone Mtn., passes through Chimney Rock and around beautiful Lake Lure, and then heads back into McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route. Our ride boasts 5,900' of ascent and is a perfect training ride for either of the "Assault" rides.

A fund-raising event for Hospice of Laurens County since 2006, Flight of the Dove features a metric century (62 miles), a 30 mile ride, and a 13 mile leisure ride. Spartanburg Water will be hosting its 3rd annual Pumpkin Pedal Halloween bicycle ride on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ride will take cyclists on three scenic routes of 67, 32, or 10 miles throughout Spartanburg Water's lakes and surrounding watersheds. The recreational ride is open to bicyclists of all ages and/or abilities and is not a race. The cost of the event is $30.00 and online registration will be available at no additional cost.
